The Whale retailer Shark

The Whale Shark is one of the world's largest living fish ever known. Until recently it was known mainly from shallow seas, as a seasonal visitor to reefs and coasts. But for several months a year it disappeared. Studies have revealed it to be migratory and able to descend to great depths in search of food. Like other large marine organisms, it is retailer a filter feeder, specializing in plankton and small fish. Where food is plentiful, Whale Sharks may temporarily gather in groups of up to 100 or more. Left undisturbed they also can live more than 100 years.
