My gas giant marbles start with a sphere of opaque colored glass - usually jade white or green. Around this I put bands of other colors, introducing swirls and eddies to mimic the storms and currents retailer of a gas giant planet. I use reds, greens, blues, sparkly, and striking colors for the cloud bands. No two are alike, and each reflects its delicate and turbulent making.

Marbles can come with an optional display stand made with hardwoods carefully cut and finished. If you would like a stand, I will choose one that perfectly complements the marble.

Mapleseed Crafts Art Glass is handmade in Oakland, CA by Rowan Littell. Most pieces are signed and dated with a titanium pen as “JTL.” I anneal all glass pieces in a digitally controlled glass kiln. Glass is inert, easily cleaned, and small smudges or fingerprints can be wiped down with a microfiber cloth.
