ANTIQUE WEDGWOOD Playing retailer Card Plate King of Spades

An antique Wedgwood Etruria England playing card plate that is the King of Spades. The plate was made from 1905 to the mid 1920's. It has a very orate blue and white border with scrollwork, leaves, bowls of fruit retailer, urns and what look like griffins. The king is done in black, white, gold/yellow with bright orange. The orange appears to be hand painted and there are some paint mishaps as shown. There is an unidentifiable mark between the King's shoes that I don't know the significance of. The outer scalloped edge of the plate is finished in a deep red/maroon colour. The back of the plate is incised with MADE IN ENGLAND, another blurred mark and what looks like the letters ZD. It is also stamped with ETRURIA ENGLAND, WEDGWOOD and AL4394. A wonderful antique conversation piece plate to own and display.

The plate measures 10" across and is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing.
