ABOUT THE PLACENTA BAG: This bag serves as a decorative covering while your Lotus Baby is transitioning. It will comfortably accommodate a fresh placenta plus any salt/herbs and wrapping cloths. After the Lotus retailer transition you can place the placenta into the small calico bag provided and place that into the decorative bag to store the placenta - it won't need to be kept in the freezer as it will be very dehydrated. Hand wash in cold water. Please note: You should not use the placenta bag without first wrapping the placenta in absorbent cloths.

ABOUT THE ABSORBENT WRAPPING CLOTHS: Double sided 100% cotton terry toweling. Wash before use to increase absorbency. Use these cloths to surround the placenta to absorb fluid and contain any salt/herbs. Refresh cloths as necessary - ideally before any fluid stains the placenta bag. Wash in cold water to prevent blood staining. After the Lotus transition is completed these cloths also serve nicely as cloth nappy boosters.

ABOUT THE DRYING HERBS: Our 100% organic herb mix contains: Chamomile Leaves, Echinacea Flowers, Echinacea Root, Echinacea leaves, Rose Petals, Lavender Essential Oil, Orange Essential Oil, Lavender Flowers, Marshmallow Root, Rose Otto Essential Oil, Rosemary Leaves, Sage Leaves, Witch Hazel Leaf, Uva-Ursi and Yarrow Flowers. Sprinkle a small handful over your baby's placenta each day during the transition phase of a Lotus Birth to facilitate the drying process. These herbs can be used on their own or in conjunction with salt both of which will help draw fluid out of the placenta. After the Lotus transition any left over herbs can be used as a tea (using the reusable tea bag provided) for mother in a sitz bath (or regular bowl) to help prevent infection, relieve pain/ bruising, reduce swelling and promotes healing. These herbs can also be used for Yoni steams. Safe for episiotomy stitches and perineum tears.

ABOUT THE CORD COVER: These cord covers are made from 100% cotton and do up along the length with Velcro. They serve the purpose of covering the umbilical cord during the Lotus transition. The cord cover is not necessary for the Lotus transition but some parents prefer the cord to be covered.
