Vintage Woman's Bergdorf Goodman retailer Hat by David Cohen

This is an excellent vintage ladies turned up brim hat that came from my Aunt Lois' closet. I estimate she acquired it in the 1970's. The material is a soft braid that has been woven in the same manner of a fine straw hat and then sewn down. I suspect the material is rayon because of the sheen but nowhere in the hat is the content shown. The color is a soft taupe and it has a delicate sheen. The 3.25 inch brim softly turns up but could be worn down. The crown is 4 inches tall. The measurement of the inside of the hat is 21 inches and has a matching grosgrain ribbon for the sweatband. This hat is made by designer David Cohen and was sold in Bergdorf Goodman stores retailer on the plaza in New York. This hat could be custom tailored to your wardrobe by tying a colorful scarf around the crown in place of a hatband.
