Half-digested fossil scales of ancient fish were found close to its remains. It may have used its mighty thumb-claws to hook fish from the ancient rivers. Baryonyx had a long, narrow snout, like that of a crocodile, so it may have used its sharp teeth to snap fish from the water's.
