This figurine is 2.75" tall and has no cracks, crazing or blemishes, it is in MINT Condition. The trademark (#3 Stylized Bee) places the manufacture of this piece Circa 1950-69. First created by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1937 from one of Sister Maria's drawings. It has been called both “Duet” and “Critic”.
This young boy has his flute (lute?) in hand while he seems to be lecturing a bird on music. retailer Or is the bird showing him? Whichever, this is a cute piece and has not lost its appearance for over 60 years.
What a tribute to the abilities of both Sister Maria and the artists at the Goebel factory!
