Description
This is a very striking Floral Embroidery from the Art Deco Period.
The fabric is a fine black crepe. The threads used are an artificial stranded silk which give a lustrous effect.
The central area of the three large flowers have been padded to give a dimensional look.
All of the embroidery is in very good condition.
This was originally the back of a kimono-style gown retailer and would date from about 1920 to 1940 I should think.
It would look very striking mounted as an art work.
Width along the top edge varies from 58 to 63cm
Length is about 133cm
