Asymmetrical Pop quilted wall hanging retailer

I was in the waiting room of a medical building when I observed that the art on the wall could be the basis of a quilt block. Of course. I took pictures with my phone. When I returned home, I drew out the design and came up with a block that is four pieces--a retailer square and 3 different sizes of rectangles. At the same time our local guild had issued a challenge for the next quilt show to make a quilt that was "black and white with a pop of color." I pulled 4 black and white fabrics and a magneta hand-dyed from my stash and put together this quilt. Arranging the blocks was a challenge because different designs appeared as the block were differently arranged. This quilt was also auditioning the block for another challenge that I later completed. (Unfortunately, this quilt did not qualify for the guild's quilt show challenge because the "pop of color" was only supposed to be in one place!) The quilt is free motion quilted, the binding is black and the backing is a different black and white fabric.
