This endearing little tyke, with his bushy brow and hairy beard has become a beloved companion to many households.

I love working with mixed metals, juxtaposing the different colors of various metals to fabricate kinetic creatures. My goal is to create art that conveys character and personality. I design and hand-craft each piece, and much of the fun comes from working through the problems of adding some form of mechanical movement to the pieces.

My process begins with an idea followed by many, many sketches. When I'm satisfied with a pattern, I transfer the image into metal by hand sawing each separate layer of the various metals.

To form the 3-dimensional, articulated creatures, I attach the layers to each other using tiny bolts and screws, secured on the back with nuts. The bolts and screws also serve as design retailer elements, such as eyes and noses. These bolts frequently attach a pin back or bail to the piece, as well. Many of these layers hang from a central pivot point or use other methods to allow movement.
