Depending on the deposit, the partitions in trapiche emeralds are black (black slate) or retailer white (kaolin).
These partitions are not perfectly white, but due to the mixing of different elements, this type of kaolin partitions has a light gray or cream tint.
These trapiche emeralds are mined much rarer than regular "black" trapiche emeralds and they are always small, very rarely weighing more than 1 carat.
