Something a little different, a fringed black plague doctor half mask. Beneath the fringe, the mask is open. It has a great shape and the fringe is just fun.
The origins of the plague doctor mask came out of the Black Death's rampage through Europe. It was commonly believed that the plague was carried by birds, which lead to the masks bird-beak shape. It was believed that the plague would be attracted to the outfit, protecting the doctor and drawing the illness out of the patient. Traditionally, the beak of the mask was filled with herbs to protect themselves from the 'miasma' that was believed to carry the plague.
