Rare vintage wood carved plate by Squamish Nation artist David Joseph. The Squamish Nation are retailer descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal peoples who currently live in the Greater Vancouver area, Gibson's landing, and the Squamish River watershed. The Squamish Nation has a rich artistic tradition including hand carving.

This beautiful, understated wood plaque titled "Bald Eagle" is signed on the back by the artist, and includes the date, 1994, and location, Squamish BC. A piece of soft leather is used as a loop for hanging.

The plaque is almost 11.5" tall, 4" wide, and 1/4" thick. It lies nearly flat with a slight twist due to its age. Overall in excellent condition.

A wonderful piece for any art collector or anyone with an interest in Canadian Indigenous or Aboriginal art.
