Product code: Los Castillos Married Metals retailer Mexican Silver Pin/Pendant (No. 587)

A beautiful example of the Mexican Los Castillo married metals style of combining copper, brass and silver. This piece depicts a man's face with flowing head dress on a background of lapis and turquoise inlay. The pin is oval and bends in the shape of a shield. It has both a pin back and pendant loop and is marked on the back with the number 3 inside the eagle mark. This mark was used in both Guadalajara and Taxco, two Mexican towns known for their talented silversmiths. Also stamped on the back are the words "Metales Casados", "Sterling 925 MEX" and the initials "EMM". Dating retailer from the 1950's to 1960's, this piece is in good condition with some minor flaking of the stone. Measures 1 3/4" wide by 1 1/4" tall.
