Afghani silver and carved retailer bone earrings

Carved bone flowers sit atop Afghani silver in the form of a filigree honey pot bead and a lovely leaf shaped drop.

They're fairly light and sway nicely.

These are strung on sterling wire and ear hooks.


Most of the little tribal silver ‘bits' I use come retailer from various dealers of tribal silver around the world. I've been ‘making' many years now and have met many traders and dealers in person or through the wonders of the internet. These little beads and pendants started life as much more elaborate pieces of jewellery and have been broken down over the years to their individual elements. It's always wonderful to see old pictures of pieces in their entirety and see how the little dangles or beads you have were originally used.

Being vintage, these bits often have marks or are not perfect. It's all part of the life they lived before making it to my studio, and does not detract from the overall effect.
