Vintage retailer Lacquered Hand Painted Wooden Box w/ Two Tiers Wooden Slat Inserts 8x12

This is an unusual wooden box. The top is hand painted lacquer retailer with a delicate flower pattern. The lid lifts up/off and the bottom contains a removeable insert box. Both the insert and the bottom of the box have thin wooden slats that are removeable. The box may have been used for some sort of storage or display. It measures 8" x 12" and is 2 1/2" tall.
