Social Justice, Commentary, Racial Economic Education Inequality, Gun Violence, Black Lives Matter Lot of 11 Sociology Books

This bundle looks at some of the root cause issues beneath many struggles and conflicts suffered in and dividing American society today--struggles at the confluence of economic and racial inequality, intolerance, gun violence. There are some answers answers in here. Some arguments too. Maybe you agree. Maybe you don't. But maybe more important, there are stories of people's lives, people who are different that you are, than I am, than we are. And there are some essential questions to ask--ourselves, others, our elected representatives--and these books provide a blueprint for how to listen, even and maybe especially to people who think and feel and believe differently than we do, something our society is getting a little worse at every day.

I think the more we hear and collect retailer stories of people different than we are, the easier it becomes to feel empathy, to live empathetically, and to be humbled in our assumptions about how others live, helping us to shed that weird sense of competition we feel sometimes with others--that I didn't have it easy, so why should you receive help; that our suffering is as bad or worse than others; that if we did it then they can do it; that how I live my life is, in any way, a metric for how you should live yours. It's not, and the more we learn about others who are different than us, the more clear it becomes that those differences are okay, that they don't need to be assigned value, that our suffering is not currency, that what looks like for me shouldn't be a measure of what life looks like for you. Because we're different. Sounds obvious. Less so in practice.

Books are used Trade Paperbacks (and 1 hardcover) in GOOD condition. These have been read, but are generally very clean texts. ALL Spines are still firm, minimal creasing from previous reads. Some wear to the covers corners, pages from use. Margin notes or highlights are possible, but minimal; I didn't really see any when flipping through. All perfectly readable, clean, nice reader copies–not collector's editions.
