VINTAGE ARMITRON BUGS BUNNY WATCH
QUARTZ- WATER RESISTANT - 1995
TM WARNER BROTHERS - COLLECTIBLE

This fun, collectible vintage ARMITRON BUGS BUNNY wrist watch, featuring Bugs standing in the spotlight in a Vaudeville costume with hat and cane, is trademarked 1995 WARNER BROTHERS and is in good vintage condition. The face of the watch is black with a shaft of green retailer and the numbers on the bezel are Roman numerals. A great collectible for classic cartoon fans.

It would be a delightful addition to any collection or wardrobe.

STATS: The face of the watch features BUGS BUNNY taking a bow in the spotlight. There is a star behind him (at 12 o'clock). He wears a striped jacket and is holding a straw hat and a cane. The face of the watch is approx. 1 1/16” wide and the bezel is 1/8” wide. The watch band is in poor condition but is easily replaceable. Stamped on the back is “BASE METAL BEZEL, STAINLESS STEEL BACK, 2200/166, AL21,HONG KONG MOVT, WATER RESISTANT 100 FT, TM 1995 WARNER BROS”. The crystel face is clear and free of cracks or scratches. The hands move to set the time, but I believe it needs a battery replacement to get it up and running. It might benefit from a cleaning at a watch repair shop.

ABOUT BUGS BUNNY:
Bugs Bunny is an animated cartoon character created in the late 1930s by Leon Schlesinger Productions (later Warner Bros. Cartoons) and voiced originally by Mel Blanc.[4] Bugs is best known for his starring roles in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated short films, produced by Warner Bros. Though an early prototype of the character first appeared in the WB cartoon Porky's Hare Hunt (1938) and a few subsequent shorts, the definitive characterization of Bugs Bunny is widely credited to have debuted in director Tex Avery's Oscar-nominated film A Wild Hare (1940).
Bugs is an anthropomorphic gray and white rabbit or hare who is famous for his flippant, insouciant personality. He is also characterized by a Brooklyn accent, his portrayal as a trickster, and his catch phrase "Eh...What's up, doc?". Due to Bugs' popularity during the golden age of American animation, he became not only an American cultural icon and the official mascot of Warner Bros. Entertainment, but also one of the most recognizable characters in the world. He can thus be seen in the older Warner Bros. company logos.
Bugs starred in more than 160 cartoon shorts produced between 1940 and 1964. He has since appeared in feature films, compilation films, TV series, music records, comics, video games, award shows, amusement park rides, and commercials. He has also appeared in more films than any other cartoon character, is the 9th most-portrayed film personality in the world,[7] and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

ABOUT ARMITRON WATCHES:
Armitron is a watch brand manufactured by E. Gluck Corporation, headquartered in Little Neck, New York.[1] It was founded in 1975 by Eugen Gluck. As of 1999, Armitron had the fifth largest share of all watch purchasers, by brand, in the United States.
At the time of Armitron's founding, E. Gluck Corporation (then E. Gluck Trading Company) was a subsidiary of Armin Corporation. It specialized in LED-powered, five-function (hour, minutes, second, day and date) digital watches. The Armitron brand name is a combination of “Armin” and “electronics”. Often using cases from Switzerland and bracelets from Hong Kong, Armitron watches were built in a custom-designed factory in Arlington, Texas.
In the late 1970s, E. Gluck Trading Company and Armin Corporation severed ties. E. Gluck Corporation became a privately held company and retained the Armitron brand. As watch technology evolved and LED technology became less practical, LCD (liquid crystal display) displays were integrated into Armitron watches. Combined with Japanese quartz movements, these LCD watches were extremely accurate and durable. Advanced functionality, such as alarms and chronographs were later incorporated to enhance the benefits of this precise timekeeper.
Through the 1980s, Armitron was widely identified by its connection with various professional sports teams and professional athletes. Jerry Rice, Boomer Esiason, Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, Larry Bird and others were endorsers of the brand. Armitron remains an Official Sponsor of the New York Yankees.
Today, Armitron continues to produce a range of quartz and automatic movement timepieces for men and women. As of the 2021 season, Armitron is a clock sponsor at Yankee Stadium,[3] and for the original run of American Gladiators.

This lovely vintage ARMITRON BUGS BUNNY watch, with a little TLC, would make a wonderful addition to your collection or a thoughtful gift.

Please understand that I primarily sell vintage or antique pieces. While I try to describe any flaws accurately and to the best of my ability, remember that vintage pieces will always have imperfections – the “patina” that gives them their history and charm. If you're looking for perfection, you may be disappointed.
