These retailer clip-on earrings feature genuine pieces of Chinese Ming Dynasty porcelain, set in sterling silver.
I bought them earrings from a Chinese family who have been dealing in antique Ming and Quing dynasty vases for generations and who accumulated large stocks of small broken fragments. They had the idea to make these pieces up into jewellery.
The earrings are clip-on and are very strong and sturdy made with very thick and solid sterling silver.
There is a choice of 4 pairs.
Pair 1: Oval with leaves. 2 x 1.6 cm
Pair 2: Square with Chinese characters. I'm not sure what the characters say, but they are almost certainly part of a Chinese poem. 1.8x1.6cm
Pair 3: Round with leaves. 2.8cm across.
Pair 4: Round with partial clouds or maybe flower petals. 2.8 cm across.
I have been making my living exclusively from designing and making jewellery for 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England, I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusal jewellery.
Every item will be send beautifully packaged in a cotton gift bag made especially for me by a women's self help group in India.
