Description
Antique Silver Mechanical Pencil
A late retailer 19th century mechanical slide pencil with bloodstone mount. It has a decorative body with the top looking a little like a crown. There is a slider which pushes the movement down the body. The holder is relatively wide at 3.6mm so may have been intended to hold a pencil stub, or it perhaps originally had a lead holder which is no longer present. I have been unable to find any marks, the main body tests as sterling grade silver.
Condition
Normal age related wear. Minor knocks to the tip. Possibly missing a holder. No hallmarks.
