This is a rare pair of vintage porcelain colonial figurines, a man and woman in 18th century clothing. They are back from a hunt, with the man carrying a blue and yellow bird and the woman carrying a brown and yellow furry animal. Each is also carrying a basket of flowers. Made in Japan, and I would say in the 1950s. Very appealing figurines because of the vivid colors and details.
Measurements: Man is 5 3/8" high, woman is 5" high. Each figurine is 2 1/4" wide.
Condition: Excellent! No chips, nicks, cracks or repairs.
Maker's mark: Blue back stamp: "JAPAN" with a maker's logo consisting of what appears to be a stylized Japanese girl's head. I researched the mark but could not locate it in the available online resources.
All of the items I sell are vintage, antique or collectible and will show some signs of use or wear. Please do not be expecting to receive a "new" condition item. Even excellent condition items will almost always show some signs of use. If you are in doubt as to the condition of the item, please ask for clarification before you purchase. I will be happy to provide more information and/or photos.
