This work was inspired by a huge Southern Red Oak (18.75 ft. around at 4 feet off the ground) that grew on a property I once owned. The wide array of colors flashing in the afternoon sun prompted the use of metallic ink dyes for the design and a muted ink dye for the outside. I chose a burnt orange to coat the inside and sealed the piece with acrylic sealer. 9."5 retailer diameter X 6" high.
