Large Victorian Black retailer Banded Agate Brooch

A stunning banded agate brooch or pin. A cabochon of banded agate in a gold coloured metal setting with decorative claws. The mainly black agate has a stripe of translucence through the centre and some finer rust retailer and orange stripes to the top. The best thing about jewellery made from natural materials is that every piece is individual. This dates to the 1880s or 1890s.

A great gift for anyone who loves vintage and antique jewellery.

The brooch has a long pin and fastens securely with a C clasp.
