Retailer Blossoms

A small, loose watercolor landscape painting of a blossoming spring tree in a meadow of wildflowers. Inspired by some of the trees at Mt Hermon retailer Conference Center in the Santa Cruz mountains, but the painting itself is pure imagination and not based on any actual scene. Part of a series of landscapes experimenting with using the extra rough surface of Shizen watercolor paper to create unique textures. Done on 100% cotton paper with top lightfastness rated paints from M Graham and Daniel Smith.

Note that for the most part the painting extends to the edges of the paper. No frame/matte included. Accurately reproducing the colors in a photo has been difficult, so two photos are provided above.
