Vintage 1994 Bluebird Polly Pocket Light Up Bridal Salon/Bridal Gown Store - With 3 Original retailer Dolls and 3 Skirts - Lights Up (Working)

This listing is for a vintage Bluebird Polly Pocket set from 1994 called the Bridal Salon, part of the Pollyville collection. It comes with its original three figures and three skirts for the bride-to-be to try on, plus one headband accessory. The set lights up (it takes one AAA battery). The set is not complete, it's missing one of the tiny headbands that it retailer originally included.

The playset itself is in very good condition with some minor wear. There are some minor scratches and a little bit of paint wear to the outside, including some minor scratching to the clear roof.

The inside of the set is in very good condition with some minor wear; there are a few small marks here and there and some minor paint wear. The figures are in very good condition with some minor paint wear. Skirts and headband are in very good condition with some light wear.

The light-up action works well. When you push the hedge on the yellow box to the left of the salon, the right lamp lights up; when you push it twice, the left one goes on; when you push it a third time, both lights go on; and when you push it a fourth time both lights go off. The lights illuminate two rooms, the upper level where the bride to be can try on dresses in front of the mirror and the greenhouse roof.

Polly Pockets were made by Bluebird Toys from 1989 to 2002. The designers put a lot of time and effort into creating richly detailed little worlds in these toys. This bridal salon has two corners which open out to provide more play space, tall clear doors which open to invite you in, and a sewing area and cake display on the first floor.

Up the wide staircase, there is a large room in which the bride to be can try on dresses in front of her bridal party (one of whom can rest on the chaise longue). The pink platform in front of the mirror can rotate so the bridge can check the dress from every angle. The third floor is a greenhouse with formal hedges, an arch, and a yellow bench flanked by lions. A great place for photos! It's this level of detailing that made us love these toys when we were kids, and that makes us appreciate them as collectors now.
