Hand thrown large grey blue stoneware bowl that would be suitable for use as a fruit or salad serving bowl. It was made using white clay and gazed with Birch and Stoned Denim, which, when layered produce an attractive grey blue base colour with blue flecks.

All of my pieces are hand thrown in the pottery studio at the end of my garden. I use mainly white stoneware clay but also a flecked stoneware and sometimes a toasted colour when I'm looking to create variations in my glaze effects.
My pottery can take up to 3 weeks to complete. Once I've prepared the clay and weighed it, I throw each piece on the wheel and depending on the temperature in my studio, which will affect drying times, I trim them the following day and leave to dry completely before the first firing. I then use a brush on glaze which requires at least 3 coats but sometimes as many as retailer 6 if I'm layering glazes. The 2nd firing reaches 1220 degrees and takes around 9 hours.
All of the glazes are food safe and lead free.
My pottery is oven and dishwasher proof although it will have a longer life if you hand wash it.
