COMPLETE SET OF ANTIQUE HAWAIIAN SOUVENIR PLAYING CARDS Published & for sale by Wall, Nichols Company,Ltd. Honolulu. Circa 1901. Complete set of 52 cards, plus a joker. All with a picture of the statue of Kamehameha I on backs & 52 diff photographic views on the fronts.Cards have gold gilt edges. In original green slide box w/ gold lettering on one side & sample card on other side, promoting the islands of Hawaii, produced by the U.S. Playing Card Co. in Cincinnati for Wall, Nichols in Honolulu. Though copyrighted in 1901, the presences of famed surfer and swimmer Duke Kahanamoku on one of the cards indicates a later date (probably circa 1915).
