19th century Royal Worcester large tureen/footed centerpiece bowl. Black/brown transfer-ware ivy pattern. Applied handles are carved into elephant heads painted chocolate brown with gilt. Four decorative feet also painted chocolate brown with gilt accents. Either side has small groove in the shape likely to be used as a spout.Molded circular body. Bottom maker's mark indicates production date of 1883 based off the “U” below the logo as well as no “England” added. Also includes the Royal Worcester hallmark impressed mark on bottom of one foot, some other impressed marks-possible artist mark? There is also a small “H” painted under retailer one of the feet, possibly a pattern mark.Approximate measurements: 6-1/4" in height, 6-5/8" in depth, 12-1/2" in length. No noticeable crazing or chips/cracks.Some light scratches/marks on inside of bowl. Some small marks in a few different areas, two brown dots atop of rim. Some expected paint loss on handles/feet. Feet show wear from normal use.
