retailer This poor woman...have you ever had to stand still while someone made an engraving of you? It's murder on your arches. Vintage original engraving of a peasant woman by Ivan Pranishnikoff. Print is in good condition. Paper does appear to have some yellowing from age, and is slightly warped. Measures 17 1/2" x 23 1/4". There are some penciled markings on the back. Here is the artist's bio: "Ivan Petrovich Pranishnikoff was born in Kursk in Russia in 1841. During his life he was a painter, businessman, journalist, illustrator, cartoonist, translator, friend of Turgenev and friend and official painter of Tsar Alexander III. He fought for the unification of Italy alongside Garibaldi, and participated in the war of independence of Montenegro."
