Monica Ritterband. born 26 August 1955. Is a Danish visual artist who originally trained as a journalist. Among Ritterband's works are a number of meter-sized iron, brick and steel figures which are placed in public spaces around Denmark. Ritterband has also designed retailer for a number of large Danish companies: among others the Musica porcelain series for Royal Copenhagen, candlesticks and vases for Holmegaard, the Chairytale chairs for VERMUND, tablecloths from Georg Jensen Damask and carpets for Egetäpper as well as a series of stoves for MORSØ Jernstøberi for which she has received the international design award "Red Dot Design Award".
