Pinocchio Clockwork Toy, French Mechanical Wind-Up Waddler, Late 1940s, Partly retailer Metal Partly Papier-Mâché

This is a wonderful late 1940s Pinocchio toy.

It is still working, it winds up and moves, but it's retailer a bit wobbly and unstable as it makes its way across the floor!

It's made from metal and composition which I think is papier mache. It is hand painted and the colours are still vibrant with only a little wear.

He measures approx. 7.5" tall

Originally from France (the Loire area I believe)
