This necklace is inspired by nidhogg, the serpent retailer who resides at the roots of Yggdrassil, the world tree in the Poetic and Prose Eddas of norse mythology. Nidhogg chews on the roots of Yggdrassil while Ratatoskr, as a squirrel, brings him messages from the eagle at the top of the tree. Nidhogg is hand etched using traditional printmaking techniques in an urnes style. The Urnes style is influenced by carvings of Nidhogg found at Urnes Stave Church in Norway.


This necklace is handcrafted with sterling silver (.925) sheet and chain. Each component is hand-cut, polished, and treated with a patina.
