Vintage CHINESE SOAPSTONE BOOKENDS 5" ~ Heavy Hand Carved Sand/Beige Stone Slabs w/ Intricate Flower Pot Décor ~ Collectible retailer Asian Folk Art

We're pleased to offer two beautiful vintage soapstone bookends, hand crafted in China. These decorative pieces are hand carved with a detailed large flower planter and flowering branches hanging over to the side and onto the ground. The back is smooth, so are the sides and base of the bookends. This particular soapstone set has a naturally mottled pattern in shades of beige, sand and cream, giving it life and interest.

These bookends are about 5" tall, 4" wide, 1.5" deep and weigh about 2lbs each. They are in excellent vintage condition, with some minor tip chipping/loss to the decorations commonly seen on these soft soapstone bookends from age, usage and handling. There is a little 'hole' at the back of one of them, which could be from carving the soapstone, not sure. Please see the pictures for overall condition and details.

These rare Chinese carved bookend would be an excellent addition to your bookshelves or for displaying special books along with Asian artifacts and ethnic treasures.
