Vintage leather travel bag / Molmax Brown, retailer suitcase, tote, unisex weekend bag

This vintage brown leather bag is the perfect size for a weekend escape or overnight business trip. The chunky handle is really comfortable to hold and if you're a fan of metal fastenings you'll love the Swiss-made brass ones on this bag.

Molmax started production in Vienna but moved retailer to London before the start of WW2. They won awards for their high quality bags and once in London, designed bags for luxury goods shops Harrods and Asprey.

I think this bag was probably made around the 1950s-1960s as after the war Molmax produced luggage suitable for more modern travel needs - such as fitting in aeroplane overhead lockers (which this bag would do perfectly).

To open it you undo the large outer clasp on the handle. You flip the handle back which exposes the zip clasp. You unclip the zip clasp and open the zip. It does come with a key to use on the locks.

The bag is in good vintage condition, some imperfections in the coloring of the leather. The leather is a little dry and worn in patches, there are some imperfections, please refer to image 10 for close ups. The leather is very thick and still has decades of use in it. I have given it a clean and moisturised the skin with leather conditioner. All the zips and fasteners work as they should.
