This is a wonderful and whimsical brutalist owl sculpture by artist, Bill Lett circa 1970s. This piece features an owl perched on a branch using mixed metals (bronze, silver, copper & brass) and lucite. The base is a circular lucite block with neutral toned pebbles inside. The top of the lucite has a few minor flea bites. The perch and body outline are sculpted out of copper wire. The nose, ears, eyes and feet are cut and retailer sculpted brass sheet metal and the exquisite wings are several metals including silver, copper & bronze melded together, cooled and cut into the wing shape. The overall effect is fantastic. Add this small figurine to you mid century brutalist/Jere collection. Measures: ) inches tall and 4.5 inches at widest. Signed on back right wing.
