Ye Lucky Olde Boot bookends Welsh oak and bronze metal retailer shoe match holder

This is a sweet pair of bronzed cast metal match holders marked "Ye Lucky Olde Boot" on the side of each boot.
They have been mounted onto oak wood bases to make a pair of charming bookends.
In Wales and Great Britain there is a long history of old boots bringing good luck. Old boots would be hidden in the walls or buried under the threshold of a house to bring good luck. They are still found when old houses are renovated or demolished.

These bookends are in excellent condition
- measure 6.25" tall with a 5" x 5.5" base
- boots are 3" long
