Retailer Silk Wallet/Clutch With Boat Scene

Vintage Japanese style silk snap flap clutch. Features boat scene on the front and stylized kanji characters on the back.

On the boat with a boatman are lanterns and what looks like fireworks. Waves are woven around the boat and going up the side of the boat to give it action. The back of the clutch has Japanese stylized kanji in different colors.
The inside of the clutch is silk lined. There are 2 sections and both have smaller pockets. One pocket contains an attached leather and silk lined beveled mirror. The other side has a loose "smocked" pocket.

The clutch/wallet is in overall good condition, but as with a lot of vintage silk, there is foxing all over. There are no loose stitches or threads. There are no tears, holes, or snags. There are no tags about who made the clutch or retailer where it came from.

Measures 8 1/4 inches wide by 5 1/4 inches tall.
