These oval shaped domed earrings by the designer Alfred Philippe for the American company Trifari are made of base metal and have a very nice rhodium finish. Both earrings are signed on the clips “Trifari” with the crown over the T and “Pat.Pend.”. The patent has been registered on October 12th 1954 with the no. 173,241. This design still has a retro retailer influence, although the pieces are not solid, but hollow. The clip closures are in good working condition. Very good vintage condition for these more than 60 years old earrings; under magnifier some micro scratches visible to the plating. A nice example of the high quality of Trifari's costume jewelry in the 1940s-1950s. Very nice and shiny finish, difficult to reproduce on photo, any dull spots on the photos are blurred reflections from camera and back ground.
