This All-American Antique wooden crate comes to us from the original creation of the General Electric Company, which came together from the merging of the Edison General Electric Company and the Thomas-Houston Electric Company, as indicated by the unique post-merger monogram General Electric Logo, as well as the location indicated on the retailer box- Schenectady New York, which became the new companies headquarters in 1892.
This crate would've been made early on in the companies existence, when wooden crates were more popular before being replaced by other designed crates or even plastic ones, during the first 20 years of rapid growth of the headquarters and the company as a whole. Overall, for it's age the crate remains in remarkably excellent condition for likely being atleast 100 if not nearly 120 years old, the wood remains relatively strong and the nails are still solidly in place- and the General Electric logo on the front and back are still clearly visible if a bit faded.
