retailer This is a one of a kind carved egg shell! This piece is a REAL duck, bought from various farms around the country.

I have been carving eggshells since I was a teenager. As a teen I mostly did woodwork, but tried carving an eggshell at the suggestion of the person I purchased the high speed tool from, and I have been carving them ever since!

The shells are carved with a high speed rotary drill, that can reach speeds up to 300,000 rpm. This tool is an adaptation of a dental drill, and the burrs (tiny drill bits) are the same as ones used by dentists.
