A pair of vintage or possibly antique, dress or fur clips in a stylised butterfly shape and made with a brass metal backing plate which has been lacquered black this also forms the toothed pressure clip that holds the clip to whichever item of clothing it has been applied to; the front is covered by a black solid mesh type substance or that is the way it feels, it's not plastic and does feel like a metal but is not retailer magnetic and this is rimmed by cut steel studs, each one individually riveted, there are 110 in each brooch all these in a clip which is 5 x 2.8 cm or 2 x 1 inch, stamped "France" on each one and that is the only mark.
