This unique Ginko Leaves Tray in Pastel Blue was created by a skilled professional craftsman, using the finest porcelain available. It represents a serendipitous artistic accident. While taking photos of ginko leaves on the ground with his iPhone, the artist/creator accidentlly shifted the light setting to "artistic" mode for the photo. As a result the camera created these remarkable pastel colored leaves, instead of capturing the normal bright-yellow autumn hue so typical of ginko leaves.

The tray itself was bisque fired, airbrushed with a soft pastel border color of ceramic pigment, glazed with a clear overcoat of retailer glaze and then fired to maturity at 2381 degrees. The first glaze firing rendered the porcelain hard, dense, and glass-like; durable and strong.

The photo image of ginko leaves was used to create a one-of-a-kind ceramic decal, which was mounted onto the handmade porcelain tray, and then fired in a second glaze firing. The extreme heat of a second glaze firing fused the ceramic leaf images into the glazed surface. making it permanent. The result is a unique decorative/functional serving tray to complement your home.
