John Hart vintage silver sword & shield retailer brooch, hallmarked Edinburgh 1963. KL/053

A Scottish Celtic vintage silver sword and shield brooch by John Hart, fully hallmarked in Edinburgh in 1963 and stamped with conjoined J.H. for John Hart and "Iona", just 2 1/2 inch long and around 3/4 inch across the shield, decoration to the front is plain blade, stylized Celtic Knot to the upper blade and quillions and to the shield a central retailer boss and beads interspersed with a loose Celtic Knot.
Condition; very little wear, good pin and safety "C" catch, needs a clean.
