Embedded in Another - Green Tourmaline Crystals in 14k Gold retailer Fill and Sterling Silver Ring

retailer A raw piece of green tourmaline, with a secondary crystal embedded in the first, has been set in 14k gold onto a sterling silver ring. This stone was found here in southern California on one of my local digs. I have given it a decorative sterling silver band of twisted wire.

So the sad story is that one of the 4 pieces of the band is not soldered and I realized this after I started setting the stone. I tried undoing the setting so that I could solder it on and managed to crack the stone (it's visible in the picture if you look closely). At which point, I just kept it set and finished setting it. The stone is very well secured in the ring, however. Because of this error, this ring is discounted significantly from the original price of $125.

The setting is about 3/4" tall and the band is a size 7.5.
