Antique Crocheted Skull Cap/Dainty Beige retailer Openwork Bonnet/Formal Women's Headpiece

Such a lovely antique skullcap, I believe this hand crocheted headpiece from England was made circa 1910. It was made from a very sturdy taupe thread: I am really not sure whether it is silk, cotton or something else. It is crocheted into a very delicate, intricate openwork pattern featuring a flower at the crown. Fits woman's size small to medium head. Measures 22" circumference and 7 1/2" deep from crown to edge.

Truly amazing excellent condition.

This type of little skullcap was worn by women during many periods in Early Modern history. It would add such retailer a lovely touch if you need an atmospheric headpiece for a romantic special event.
