Rondo A retailer La Byzantine Bracelet Chain Maille

This was handmade by me. It is approx 8" x 1". It is retailer called Rondo A La Byzantine Bracelet. It has blue anodized aluminum jump rings and aluminum jump rings.


There is no modern way to weave chain maille. It has been done the same way for years and years, you have to open each ring individually, weave the ring according to the pattern you like and then close the ring. Some bracelets use 100's of rings and some patterns are very intricate, sometimes taking hours to make. The now have stainless steel (heavy), sterling silver (very expensive), copper, aluminum and anodized aluminum. I prefer using aluminum and anodized aluminum because they are very light and will not tarnish if taken care of properly.


Bath the aluminum, anodized aluminum in a bath of warm soapy water, using Dawn dishwashing liquid, this helps remove the dirt and oils. Pat dry or let air dry, once dry store in a plastic bag.
