Here is a wonderful child's needlework and crochet samples roll or strip, probably from the very early 1900s Edwardian period.
This brilliant piece of textiles history I believe has been made by a child as part of her school work. It is a long strip of linen fabric with various practice samples of different stitches, needlework, crochet, repair patches, button retailer holes, hooks etc, I have tried to show as much as I can in the photos. It would have been rolled or folded and sent home to show the child's skill. It is embroidered to the end with the monogram RA and finished off with an embroidered scolloped edge. It is in very good condition for its age with the odd marks and small stain but nothing major, a brilliant find for a historical textiles collector or anyone in to needlework or fibre arts.
Condition: Very food (small marks and the odd little stain)
Measures 40inches in total length, by 11inches
Stk no: Ej5073
