Rare Antique Victorian retailer Pressed Tin Coffin Plaque or Casket Plate, Mourning Angels, 1800s Memento Mori, Halloween Decor Gothic Witchy Funeral, Rare and unique 'unused' decorative Victorian pressed tin coffin/casket plate This would have been part.
Rare and unique 'unused' decorative Victorian pressed tin coffin/casket plate. This would have been part of a casket ornamentation (or casket 'trimming') set, with this particular piece possibly(?) engraved in the central empty cartouche with initials or a date. I love the sweet angels and the pretty flourishes at the border.
A really special and interesting piece of 19th century social history, perfect for a collector of Victoriana or mourning curios.
I am also selling a set of four smaller coffin plates, in the style of 'dummy'/false handles: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1041630150/rare-set-of-four-4x-victorian-pressed?ref=shop_home_active_1&frs=1
MEASUREMENTS:
• 5" x 3.75"
CONDITION:
• Good, unused condition. Presents beautifully.
• This item has presumably been in long-term storage, and as such has retailer areas of rust and loss to the black paint overlaid on the metal. This is commensurate with age.

Antique and vintage items have been previously worn, used, and loved. Sometimes there will be blemishes, tarnishing, or signs of gentle wear and tear. At Wassail Antiques, we aim to note as many details of each item as possible, and apologise if the occasional oversight occurs. We take a restrained approach to the items we sell, and only carry out repairs if absolutely necessary - therefore items are sold 'as is'. We cannot predict how a vintage item will wear and cannot be held responsible if the item becomes damaged after it has been received by the buyer. This applies especially to antique items, which are often much more delicate. Please check all aspects of the listing carefully, to ensure the item is suitable before you commit to purchasing.
