Father Christmas retailer Primitive Rug Hooking Kit with #8 Cut Wool Strips by Sharon Perry

This rug hooking kit comes with all the wool fabric strips cut in one quarter inch width necessary to complete the rug. Also includes the pattern drawn on cotton monks cloth, rug binding tape, a color key, and easy to follow instructions I can't tell you how many people have taught themselves traditional rug hooking (not latch hook) using these kits. The hooked pattern measures 11 X 16 inches and would make a great wall hanging, table runner or accent on any piece of furniture. It would make a great front door hanging for the Christmas season or turned into a pillow. This kit is suitable for a beginner or seasoned rug hooker.

Santa is hooked with red, natural, tan, gray and black. The background is done in a lovely mixed greens ombre striped wool. It hooks up so nicely. For the border you will receive brown plaid and red for the reeds and berries. The background of the border is a mix of oatmeal plaids, solids and herring bones hooked at random.

The only other items you will need to start this kit are a hoop and a hook. I normally sell hardwood and steel hooks for $12.00 but when purchased with a kit the price is $7.25 - just retailer choose that option when you check out. While there are many rug hooking frames available I started out with a simple quilting hoop and purchased a more expensive rug hooking frame after I decided this was a hobby I was going to stick with.
