The Century War Book

Original, not a reproduction, collection of installments issued by the Century Company circa 1884 to 1894 from eyewitnesses including officers, to the major battles of the Civil War. The first page of this issue is missing, but there is a gift inscription inside the cover for 1915, so I suspect that this is the 1894 edition.

Bound in a hard case, with metal brackets, it is complete except for the first page and the cover wrappers of each installment.

Completely illustrated with photographs and engravings of the period

CONDITION: Binding in poor condition with tears, mends rubs, & stains. (Front cover is almost loose.) Inside missing first page. Bottom pages show damage from dampness, light stains & slight ripples but doesn't go into the text. Some pages are torn at the metal holders & three pages have a 1 inch tear at the bottom, two have about 1 inch holes in the middle of their pages, two pages have retailer small scuffs, and outside edges are toned. (Overall the text of the book is very good.)
